Ruby Woo has been my favourite lipstick for as long as I have had colour on my lips. It gives me a style evolution with just a swipe, and a glam makeover in no time.
A friend who came like a makeup guru made me try this lipstick right at the cusp of ‘red is the new black’ revolution. After that, Ruby Woo and I have had quite an intimate affair, to tell you the truth. Parties, date nights, evenings or luncheons, I was the girl with red lips.
It was all rosy and gold until I saw that doomsday was coming closer. I was running out of my red lipstick, and had already run out of money to re-stock it. Hence, the hunt for the perfect red begun. Several Google answers, YouTube videos and blog searches later, I found myself disappointed, unable to find a dupe.
So on a casual visit to the supermarket, I spotted this red lipstick from Lakme called the Enrich Matte Lipstick which I instantly fell for!
I swatched the red on my palm and it was a match made in beauty vanity. I was convinced in like a second, and when I asked for the price, I had no second thoughts.
For Rs 295 ( Ruby Woo costs 1500), this lipstick is a dream. The pigment is a little lighter and you may require two swipes to get that exact shade, but the wear is smooth without any creases.
It stays on for easily 5 hours without bleed, is in fact smoother to apply as compared to Mac. The packaging is simple and easy to use and since it’s from Lakme, you can be pretty assured of the quality too. The shade I have swatched is RM 14 of the same range.
With so many pros, I think this is my best piece of beauty find ever. If you’re buying your first lippie, you could surely start with this one.
