AIFWSS17: Love for handlooms

After all the campaigns started by Indian textile minister, promoting handlooms has become designers prime motive. This season the Fashion Design Council of India had a strong opening show where 16-designer dedicated their collection to Chanderi, hand-crafted fabrics and detailing too. Apart from that, designers like Urvashi Kaur presented designs in Jamdani weaves, while Abraham-Thakore paid tribute to hand-spun Khadi. Gaurav Jai Gupta used Pingala and Krishna Mehta went for Maheshwari in their collection, while Anavila continued with her organic love for linen.
